Dr. Owens was born and raised in Frankfurt/Main, Germany and moved to the United States in 1999. Her undergraduate studies began in Mainz, Germany at the Johannes Gutenberg University studying Biology and ended with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Health Science with a focus in Dietetics from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana where she graduated with distinction.
Her interest in chiropractic as a natural healing profession began after her first experience with chiropractic, right here in Huntingburg, Indiana. Not having any prior knowledge or experience with chiropractic she found herself with severe neck pain while visiting family. Dr. Gilbert was the one who treated her and provided immediate relief! No medication needed! With the removal of nerve interference of the spine (subluxations) the body has a greater ability to heal itself. This was a profession Dr. Owens wanted to be a part of! She received her doctor of Chiropractic from the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, Florida and started changing lives, just like hers was changed with specific scientific spinal adjustments by Dr. Gilbert.
Dr. Owens has a passion for supporting the body’s natural healing capabilities through chiropractic care and nutrition. Her role at The Wellness Center is to provide new patient exams, chiropractic care and nutritional counseling. Dealing with an autoimmune condition herself gives Dr. Owens the passion and the knowledge to help others with these complex diseases, utilizing a functional medicine approach and natural, non-toxic products in her lifestyle change approach.
Dr. Owens is married to Trent and they have 5 wonderful children. Together as a family they enjoy outdoor activities.
